Domestic Energy Assessments (To create an EPC certificate)
A domestic energy assessment evaluates the energy efficiency of a residential property, examining factors such as insulation, heating systems, windows, and overall energy usage. The assessment results in an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), which provides a rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient) and offers recommendations to improve the property's efficiency. Using an accredited assessor (like me) is crucial because they are trained, certified, and adhere to industry standards, ensuring accurate and reliable evaluations. Accreditation also guarantees compliance with legal requirements, offering homeowners and buyers confidence in the quality and validity of the EPC.
A domestic energy assessment involves a phone call to gather information on the property followed by a thorough inspection of your property. During the assessment, I will visit your home to collect information about key features such as the insulation, heating systems, windows, and lighting. I will measure room dimensions, check the type of boiler, inspect loft (if assess is possible) and wall insulation, and note other factors that influence energy performance.
The process typically takes about an hour and is non-invasive, ensuring minimal disruption.
Pricing
The time it takes and level of data needed to complete a domestic energy assessment depends on the size and conditions of the property. I always speak with a property owners before confirming a service fee.
However approximate costs for providing an EPC start from £49 per property.
If you're a landlord, estate agent or other organisation/business looking to assess 5 homes or more in a single booking, I can offer discounted rates.
